Moni opened in 2013 in Mykonos Town, founded by a group of individuals who had been frequenting the island for over twenty-five years and who set out to create an intimate alternative to the larger club formats on the island. The name is taken from the neighboring Agia Moni church, the only one among over 800 churches in Mykonos built alone rather than in pairs, Moni meaning "alone" in Greek. The venue is located on Agia Moni Square at the ancient fortified entrance to the town, 100 meters from the Panagia Paraportiani church, five minutes on foot from both the Old Port and the Windmills. The club is built within a traditional Mykonos stone house with thick whitewashed walls, integrating the island's own architectural identity into the space. Table capacity is limited and advance booking is strongly recommended. The club runs daily from midnight to 6:00 AM.
The music program covers Hip-Hop, electronic, house, and dance formats, with the playlist curated to move across genres through the night rather than commit to a single format. International DJs and guest acts anchor the programming calendar throughout the season. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday are the highest-energy evenings. The intimate scale of the venue means the dance floor operates at close range with the DJ, creating a more direct and social energy than larger formats on the island.
The crowd is consistently described as luxurious without pretension, with the club's motto "More Than Family" reflecting the social philosophy behind the space.
