Papaya Playa Project operates one of Tulum's most established beachfront event formats from its 900-meter private beach at Km 4.5 of the Hotel Zone. The Saturday Celebration is the weekly anchor event, running every Saturday from 7:00 PM with last entry around 12:50 AM. The programming is built around lunar cycles, with Full Moon, New Moon, and themed editions structuring the monthly calendar. The production covers the full beachfront setup: dinner service, live performances, immersive lighting, and a main stage DJ set on the sand. The venue is a Design Hotels member and has maintained its event reputation since its early years as one of Tulum's original nightlife destinations.
The music format covers house, techno, and underground electronic programming, drawing from European and Latin American circuits. Past Saturday Celebration headliners include Goldcap, Tim Green, Nico Stojan, Kollektiv, and AERA, among others from the underground credibility tier. The format is designed as a journey rather than a conventional club night, with set selections that build progressively through the evening. Beyond the Saturday format, the venue runs additional special events including the monthly Full Moon Party, which is the most recognized event in the PPP calendar and draws a larger crowd and higher-profile DJ bookings. Tickets for Saturday Celebration run between MXN 2,200 and MXN 3,000 per person. VIP table minimum spends vary by event and require full payment at booking.
The setting is fully open-air on white sand, with the Caribbean Sea as the backdrop and the Tulum jungle framing the property. The production integrates the natural landscape rather than working against it, with lighting and stage setups designed to preserve the outdoor character of the venue. The atmosphere skews toward a community of music-forward travelers and electronic music enthusiasts rather than a pure party crowd. Dress code is bohemian beach chic: festival attire, flowy fabrics, and comfortable footwear for sand. Athletic wear is discouraged. Parking is available on site but fills quickly on high-demand event nights.
