Pikes opened in 1978 as a private finca converted by founder Tony Pike into one of Ibiza's most storied party venues. The property has hosted Freddie Mercury, George Michael, Grace Jones, Boy George, and Wham, whose Club Tropicana video was filmed at the hotel's pool. In 2011, the Ibiza Rocks Group took ownership and modernised the venue while preserving its eccentric character. Pikes is not a superclub. It is a sprawling hotel and event labyrinth with a capacity of 800, operating across multiple interconnected spaces, each with a distinct atmosphere and format. The 2026 season opens with an opening weekend party from 10 to 12 April.
Freddies, the bijou dancefloor named in honour of Freddie Mercury, is the heart of Pikes nightlife, with intimate DJ sets, a disco ball, and a format built around connection rather than production. The piano bar, where Roberto plays nightly, runs alongside a bathtub karaoke area as part of the hotel's anything-goes culture. Mercury Rising with DJ Harvey is the most recognised residency in Pikes history. Pikes Presents, the venue's cult Tuesday event series, has moved to 528 Ibiza for 2026, running from 26 May to 6 October with a roster including Groove Armada, Basement Jaxx, Bonobo, Carl Craig, Fatboy Slim, Sasha and John Digweed, Moodymann, and 2ManyDJs, among others.
The crowd at Pikes skews toward guests aged 35 and above who are drawn by the venue's authenticity and history rather than headline DJs or production scale. Entry to most nights is free on advance guestlist, bookable directly through the official Pikes website. The garden terrace functions as a restaurant before midnight and as a social space through the night. The pool, made famous by the Club Tropicana video, operates as a gathering point from poolside afternoons through evening events. A taxi from San Antonio costs approximately €10 and takes under ten minutes.
