La Zebra operates on the Hotel Zone of Tulum Beach at kilometer 8 of the Tulum-Boca Paila corridor, a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World. The property runs two distinct beach club formats within the same beachfront location. The original La Zebra Beach Club centers on authentic Mexican coastal cuisine and craft cocktails directly on the Caribbean sand. The Mediterranean Beach Club runs alongside it with a lighter, more colorful format that blends Caribbean energy with Mediterranean-influenced food and drinks. Both operate with loungers, daybeds, and full food and beverage service facing the sea.
The setup is boutique and deliberately low-key relative to the more produced venues on the Tulum strip. Comfortable loungers and plush daybeds line the beach under natural shade structures, with the Caribbean turquoise water as the backdrop. The tone is social and relaxed, consistent with the SLH positioning of the hotel. The property also includes a spa at its sister property Lula Hotel, a wellness center, sports bar, and mini golf, making it one of the more complete day setups on the Hotel Zone for guests who want more than a beach chair.
The La Zebra kitchen is led by Chef Eleazar Bonilla, with a menu built around traditional Mexican ingredients, daily-caught seafood, and produce from the hotel's organic garden. Beachside tacos, ceviche, and an eight-course tasting menu at the Chef's Table for eight guests are the anchors of the food program. The cocktail program focuses on tequila and mezcal, with handcrafted mixes and fresh ingredients. The Mediterranean Beach Club runs a separate menu with colorful dishes and refreshing cocktails in a more festive format. DJ programming runs across both clubs, maintaining an ambient and social energy throughout the day.
