Boia De operates at 5205 NE 2nd Ave in Buena Vista, tucked into a strip mall between a laundromat and a supermarket. The neon pink exclamation mark above the entrance is the only marker. Inside, the restaurant seats 24 guests across a narrow, collector-item-filled dining room in forest green and black. Chefs Luciana Giangrandi and Alex Meyer hold one Michelin star and the 2024 Michelin Guide Florida Sommelier Award, won by wine director Gabriela Ospina. Dinner service runs nightly.
The space is intentionally small and without production. The format is driven by the kitchen and the wine program rather than by atmosphere or design. The crowd is consistent: regulars, food-focused guests, and industry. Service is warm and direct. The restaurant describes its concept as modern American cooking with a strong Italian influence, reflected equally in the food and in a wine list built around terroir-driven producers from across the globe.
The menu rotates seasonally and is built around what is available from regional farms and local suppliers. Recurring dishes include crispy polenta with marinated eggplant and ricotta salata, pappardelle with Florida hare and rosemary, Alba truffle tagliatelle, gorgonzola agnolotti with Calabrian chili, veal sweetbreads with beets and jalapeño, beef tartare, and chicken liver and foie gras pâté. The signature dessert is a deconstructed tiramisu with a cinnamon-drizzled sugar crust. Portions are designed for sharing. The wine list spans international regions with a focus on natural and terroir-driven producers.
