Casa Banana has been operating in Tulum's Hotel Zone since 2009, built around a wood-fire kitchen and open parrillada visible from the dining room. Founded by Daniel and Santiago with roots in Argentine grilling tradition, the restaurant has grown into one of the more established dining options on the beach road. Recognized by the Michelin Guide Mexico 2025, it holds a consistent position within Tulum's dining scene without the high-energy format of many surrounding venues.
The space is open-air, set within a garden environment with a covered patio and a terrace shaded by lantern-lit trees. The bar runs across two levels. The overall atmosphere is warm and rustic, noticeably more relaxed than many neighboring restaurants on the coastal strip. Thursday evenings run with more energy and a livelier format, drawing a consistent crowd throughout the season.
The menu is centered on Argentine-style wood-fire cooking, with premium beef cuts as the core offering. Fresh seafood, housemade pasta, and a strong selection of vegetarian options round out the menu. Signature starters include housemade empanadas, wood-fired artichokes, and grilled chorizo. The cocktail program is built around infused spirits and local ingredients, complemented by an international wine list.
