Il Gabbiano operates at 335 South Biscayne Boulevard in the One Miami East Tower, at the point where the Miami River meets Biscayne Bay. The restaurant was founded by brothers Gino and Fernando Masci, creators of New York's Il Mulino, and brings the same approach to classical Italian cooking to a waterfront setting in Downtown Miami. Lunch service runs Monday through Friday, dinner Monday through Saturday.
The dining room seats 250 guests across a floor-to-ceiling windowed space with panoramic views of Biscayne Bay. An outdoor terrace extends the seating al fresco. Inside, white linens, comfortable armchairs, and formal table settings define the register. A private dining room accommodates up to 30 guests for events. Each table receives a complimentary opening of Parmigiano-Reggiano cut from a whole wheel with aged balsamic, bruschetta, house bread, and fried zucchini, a signature carried over from Il Mulino.
The kitchen focuses on classical Italian preparations with handmade pasta as the core. Recurring dishes include porcini ravioli with Champagne and truffle cream sauce, pappardelle with tomato and basil, gnocchi, tortellini, seafood risotto, scampi fra diavolo, veal chop with Gorgonzola mushroom cream sauce, Dover Sole, and filet of beef in Barolo wine sauce. The wine list covers Italian and French labels across a broad selection. Service follows a formal, attentive model consistent with the classic Italian fine dining format.
