Smith & Wollensky operates at 1 Washington Avenue at the southern tip of South Beach, occupying a landmark green and white building on South Pointe Park. The Miami Beach location is part of the national group established in New York in 1977 and is the only steakhouse in the chain to dry-age and butcher USDA Prime beef on site, fly in live lobster daily, and produce all sides and pastries in house. Lunch and dinner service run daily, with brunch on weekends.
The venue spans two levels with a total capacity of 650 seats across an indoor dining room, an expanded bar and lounge, a covered outdoor patio, and the Overlook Deck, a second-story open terrace with panoramic views of South Pointe Park, Government Cut, Fisher Island, and the Downtown Miami skyline. The pet-friendly terrace and outdoor areas face the water directly. Several private dining rooms accommodate groups from 20 to 400 guests. The setting is casual and open, consistent with a waterfront South Beach venue that draws a wide mix of locals, visitors, and regulars.
The kitchen dry-ages USDA Prime steaks on site for 28 days. The menu centers on beef: ribeye, filet, New York strip, and the tomahawk served tableside. The seafood program runs lobster flown in daily, crispy battered shrimp with spicy lobster butter, and full shellfish towers with horseradish cocktail sauce, cognac mustard, ginger sauce, and green apple mignonette. Classic sides include truffled mac and cheese, creamed spinach, and charred broccolini. The coconut layer cake is a long-standing house signature. The wine list holds multiple award-of-excellence recognitions.
