Belcanto opened on the rooftop of the Dubai Opera in Downtown Dubai, positioned as both a fine dining Italian restaurant and a live music venue. The concept was designed around a multi-sensory format that integrates Italian gastronomy, nightly live performances, and one of the most direct views of the Burj Khalifa available from any restaurant in the city. The kitchen is led by Executive Chef Fabrizio Lusenti, whose menu combines traditional Italian recipes with contemporary technique and seasonal sourcing. The wine program is curated by Giuseppe Masu, awarded Sommelier of the Year 2025. Belcanto holds recognition in the Michelin Guide Dubai 2025 and was named Dubai's Best Live Music Venue 2025.
Guests arrive via a bespoke Belcanto buggy and ascend through glass elevators, entering an interior dressed in rich crimson and gold that references the aesthetic vocabulary of European opera houses. A central stage anchors the main dining room, with nightly performances ranging from jazz to classical music running alongside dinner service. The Belcanto Terrace extends the experience outdoors, with panoramic views of the Burj Khalifa as the backdrop for cocktails and lighter formats. The setting suits special occasions as well as composed dining evenings, with bespoke packages available for celebrations including personalised service, rose bouquets, and tailored desserts.
The menu covers contemporary Italian cuisine built around traditional recipes and premium ingredients. Standouts include pasta, risotto, pizza prepared to a consistently high standard across reviews, and a white truffle seasonal menu introduced in 2025. The wine list is award-winning and covers Italian and international labels across multiple price points. A Saturday brunch program called La Festa runs from 13:00 to 16:00 h. The service format is attentive and formally structured, consistent with the venue's positioning as a celebration destination.
